I immigrated to the USA in 2015 from the Philippines. Shortly after I began my new life in the USA, Woodforest provided me the opportunity to join their team. As an immigrant, the Woodforest commitment to diversity made me feel welcome. My branch manager worked diligently to ensure I would be fully equipped with the knowledge and skills to provide excellent customer service. Management within the company continually nurtures my understanding in the field of banking and customer service. The positive atmosphere at Woodforest National Bank was noticeable from day one when I walked in for my interview and continues today. The manager I work with makes sure that everyone in the branch is knowledgeable regarding all of our products and services before we face our customers. I truly feel that the company invests in its employees. Woodforest goes above and beyond for their customers and employees. My proficiency in the field of banking and finance increases and develops with each day. Every day at work is an exciting adventure as every customer has banking needs as unique as their personalities. Woodforest has been a wonderful part of my journey in the world of banking.
I have had the honor and privilege of working for Woodforest National Bank for 4 years. I have been a part of several large companies throughout my career, but I have found a home at Woodforest. The environment has a very ‘family’ feel and I have built many relationships that will last a lifetime. It is not only the people who make Woodforest National Bank great but also the opportunity that is offered. The company recognizes what you do as an employee. I have had the opportunity to grow within the company within the last 6 months and have a career plan for where I want to be within the next year. Everyone is always willing to listen and help you with your development. The company has diverse career options to choose from, anywhere from branch banking, lending, risk management, HR, IT, processing, learning services, volunteer activities and so much more!

Woodforest has offered me opportunities to grow in my career and allowed me to develop in different areas. I have been able to work in several capacities within the HR department as well as partner on projects with many other departments in the Bank. I have worked at Woodforest National Bank for 11 fantastic years. Starting my career at Woodforest, straight out of college, I immediately knew I would be here for the long haul. My coworkers are like family; we are a close knit group of people who are always willing to help each other. Management is eager to hear from employees and takes their comments to heart. Promotions are often awarded internally which allows for employees to grow within the company. Woodforest strives for excellent customer service which is a reflection of how they treat employees as well.
When meeting with friends, the topic of jobs always comes up. Where do you work? Do you like your job? Is your job stressful? Do you feel financially secure? In every conversation I am forever thankful my answers stay the same. My path with Woodforest National Bank began almost nine years ago. I was hesitant at the thought of working at a bank. As I applied online, questions constantly crossed my mind. Am I qualified to work at Woodforest National Bank? Does it matter if my degree is not targeted towards banking? Am I able to grow with the company? Looking back at my career with Woodforest National Bank, I have grown tremendously in different facets on my journey. Woodforest National Bank provided me with the opportunity to learn and develop critical thinking, managerial and business owner skills. I love the fact that Woodforest National Bank is considered large but operates as a community bank. When you work at Woodforest National Bank, each branch feels like a family. Woodforest National Bank allows you to grow at your own pace and gives numerous opportunities to move up within the company. I love the many business relationships I have created and the trust my customers have given me regarding their finances, often leading to personal stories they feel comfortable sharing.
